Kinetic Echo began as a name for the group that grew out of my work with the Joshua Squad. As I became more established as a director and the group began discovering the ‘heart’ of our work, we realized that we were digressing from the specific mission of the Joshua Squad.

Since we weren’t really in a position to change what we were doing, I began developing the company as ‘Kinetic Echo’. The idea is that, as performers and artists, we are never really creating something new – we are coming back down into the heart of human existence. Our work was to ‘speak’ the truths that we found from our own perspective – to give an ‘echo’ to the things that are meaningful. The ‘kinetic’ part came since we were working in the movement arts.

The group only lasted until April 2007 (for a variety of reasons), but I have kept the name ‘Kinetic Echo’ as heading for independent projects. This is also the title I go by on MySpace.
